Butterflies And Our Thoughts, What They Have In Common
We have between 50,000 and 70,000 thoughts per day, this comes down to 35-48 thoughts per minute. When we pause and really look at this, we can't be surprised that we experience from time to time feelings of being overwhelmed and exhaustion, because all those thoughts go around and around with no end. The majority of those thoughts are the subconscious once, used for moving, breathing and responding to the believe system we have.
We take our thoughts for granted, and often we don't question if those thoughts are even useful. Thoughts stick in our mind like Velcro, useless thoughts clutter up valuable space that could been used for productive and helpful thoughts. It is this clutter that holds us back to achieve our goals and resolutions. Compare it to a virus on the computer; the computer may still work but it the question is, do you get the answer you want from it?
By paying attention on what kind thoughts come into our mind, we create the opportunity to accept or to dismiss the thought as being useful. When we start to pay attention to thoughts it may seems like a lot of work, and it is, because we start questioning our old believes and habits. But in the meantime we clean up our hard drive, and that is import for:
Life is always changing and we have to be adaptable to thrive in life.
Clutter prevent us to have a clear view on what is important to us.
Outdate believes hold us back in moving forward and experience personal growth
A clear mind has the ability to create the most amazing things in work and relationships.
It is all about transforming ourselves from one stage in life to the next, just like a butterfly. When a butterfly is an egg it doesn't know that it will end up as a great gracious creature. Their journey is long and filled with a lot of challenges and hard work. People are the same; to grow into the beautiful creatures we are designed to be, we have to go through different stages and overcome obstacles along the way.
It all starts with what we think; do we have optimistic or pessimistic thoughts, does pain rule our lives, or are we stuck in the perspective that others know best and you follow the crowd? When we realize what our thought patron is, then we know in with "stage" of life we are in. From there it will be more simple (not necessary easier) to move ourselves to the next phase in life with the goal of becoming a beautiful butterfly. For now ask yourself: What is one thing right now I can let go off, that is holding me back?
